FLOG started its fourth year on January 26, 2002, and to help kick off the year we unveiled another new piece of equipment - an ingenious sling designed by our very own Dungeon Master for electrical play and wax play. The sling is free standing and self-supporting and the leather work is beautiful. In addition to the sling, we started out the evening with a HOTS night. This Hands-On-Training session was a Show and Try evening with experienced members of the group there to answer all questions, and to show those curious how the equipment was to be used. Those that participated got to try all pieces of equipment and came away with a fuller understanding of the equipment. The evening was well attended, and all of those who tried out the sling came away with smiles. Announcements were made concerning upcoming events, a proposed float trip, our annual picnic, the Fetish Ball and other events. The evening ended with several new people trying out "public scening".

LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULE!!

For those that don't understand French - that's "Let the Good Times Roll" and we did just that on Saturday February 23 as the group celebrated Mardi Gras - FLOG style, and celebrated FLOG's anniversary of its first play party. Beads were handed out as guests arrived, and everywhere you looked, there were beads, feathers and wonderful exotic masks of every size, shape, and color. Throughout the evening, all who attended enjoyed the food that the group provided and FLOG's version of "king" cakes - two to eat, and one created by our DM's with one willing sub who was covered in a demonstration of waxing, with green, purple and gold. She was truly a sight to see!

This night also marked the beginning of our registration system and it was a great success. Everyone entering the party was required to show a valid ID card and to read and sign a "registration" form acknowledging they'd received a copy of the Rules and Etiquette. Cards were issued to all that registered and will be used at all future events.

March brought "March Madness" and ref's to monitor the evening's play, but after February's party things were a little more calm. The evening started with one of our DM's conducting a hands-on demonstration on basic rope bondage showing basic knots and a classic rope dress. Rope and hand-outs were provided so that everyone who attended who wanted to try their hand at rope bondage were given an opportunity to do so. Several "subs" offered appendages for practice. We put out the cross, the gallows, the ladder, the frame and the horse to play and during the course of the evening all pieces were put to good use.
