The FLOG January social was Saturday, January 27th, at 8:00pm. We met in the same building as before, but met upstairs, where we had the Halloween Party. This doubled the play space we had downstairs.

With the space we have now upstairs, we have room for an area for socializing separate from the play area. The play area is large enough for six different scenes to be on-going without getting in each-other's way. In addition to the space, we have our own bathrooms (nice when you are in fetish clothes) and our own bartender.

We also repeated our highly successful HOTS night (Hands-on-Training Session) for newcomers. This session, led by experienced lifestyle individuals, covered the basics of BDSM: the who, what, how, when, where and why, as well as protocol and safety issues. Everyone who attended and a great time, and learned a lot, too. The attendees reported it to be a great, non-threatening way to take the leap into BDSM, and to have their questions answered.

It might not have been Fat Tuesday on Bourbon Street, but the February 24th FLOG Social/Play Party was a rousing success, complete with beads, a Mardi Gras King Cake and tons of feathers. The winning masks were incredible, elaborate and very creative. Door prizes, including a beaded flogger, were handed out to the most elaborate and the most original costumes. We had nearly 100 people attend, and everyone who played had a wonderful time.

Our postponed "sleepsack" demo took place this month. Our demonstrator gave us some insight into the use of the three sleepsacks he brought, as well as a look into the psychological aspects of being confined within one. One was a leather sack which was very restraining, then there was a rubber sack, and lastly his newest toy, called a "zombie" sack. This one allowed the individual inside to walk around, but still encased them from head to toe.

While sleepsacks may not be everyone's kink, it was interesting for all to see and for those who experienced it first hand that night.

March Madness invaded the FLOG Social/Play Party this month. The party was held Saturday, March 24th, from 8:00pm to 1:00am, with decorations befitting the occasion. Our DM's got into the spirit and "ref'd" the evening with basketball whistles. We again had a record crowd nearing 100, and we were excited to see and meet all the new faces. All enjoyed the newer, bigger playspace.

And everyone attending found the demo/discussion this month on safety issues and concerns to be informative and relevant to events going on around the group and the community.

Throughout the night the attendees saw several scenes going on including a scene with a single tail whip, an elaborate Japenese rope bondage scene and several scenes with just "good ole flogging". One sub learned that sometimes it pays to wish out loud as she got to participate in a rather elaborate scene with a Mistress and our DM.
